Yes We Can Music Video: Barack Obama & Black Eyed Peas & Obama’s speech

Here is the inspiring new video “Yes We Can” by the Black Eyed Peas, which follows Barack Obama’s inspiring “Yes We Can” speech.  The video features several other celebrities, including Scarlett Johansson, Kate Walsh, John Legend, Kareem Abdul Jabar, and several others.  Below it is the original “Yes We Can” speech Obama gave in New Hampshire.

The Yes We Can video takes what may be Obama’s most inspiring speech to date, and adds music to it. Then it ads various vocals, most saying the same lines as Obama, some adding back up and other vocal terrain.  I was getting chills while watching it, and I honestly couldn’t tell if it was because I was cold, or if it was having that effect on me. There was a sense though, that the Obama movement was something very very unusual, and that it is touching people and giving them hope for a new start in a way that hasn’t been seen in this country for over 40 years.

It brought tears to my eyes. I ran it over and over, and it moved me every time. I must confess that as an old fogey I had never even heard of Will.i.am, but today he’s my new favorite artist.
