The Top 20 Movies of All Time- Based on The Number of Tickets Sold

Remember all the Talk about “Titanic” being the biggest movie of all time? And now, a decade later, “Avatar” is being called the biggest movie of all time. It’s always exciting for movie buffs to find another movie has conquered the last one. But these numbers are based on gross income from ticket sales. And since ticket prices go up over time, The number one movie of all time, based on ticket sales, is most definitely not the same as the movie with the most ticket sales. What Avatar has accomplished in such a short time is certainly remarkable, but also has the highest average ticket cost of any movie, since 85% of ticket buyers are seeing it in 3D, and paying more for that experience. But put in a different perspective, it is still far behind movies such as The Sound of Music, Ben Hurr, Doctor Zhivago, and even The Sting.
