So, you are thinking about an on-line Engineering degree. It could
be the best move you ever made. or the worst. The difference is
selecting the right program. The bottom line? Will the Engineering
diploma mean anything? There are hundreds of onlie Engineering schools,
all promising a quality education that will be recognized by future
employers. But many of them are less than good. So, one approach
is to find a respected traditional college or university Engineering
program, and find out how much of it is now offered online. More
traditional schools are offering online distance courses all the time,
and more than ever are offering entire programs online. Be very
careful about choosing an online-only engineering program. Make sure
the accreditation is recognized by the state in which the online school
is based. Ask tough questions of the admissions counselors (also known
as commissioned sales people, in most cases). By taking the time
to investigate carefully ahead of time, you are much more likely to
have a good distance education experience, and after some good, hard
work, end up with a recongized and respected Engineering diploma.
