Yes, Yogi did play in live in NYC for some time. And then settled in NJ, but his education was from St. Louis. That’s where he learned to speak and think. So as wonderful as Yogi’s saying are, NYC can’t take credit for it.

Was he stupid? Hardly. Yogi didn’t make it as far a high school, but he was actually quite intelligent. However, he was a diamond in the rough and spoke what was on his mind without thinking. Again a product of his environment and education in St. Louis.

He is a bit gruff these days, but had you met him when he was making all these quotes, you would have liked him.

They are STUPIDITY .. plain ans simple. Typical of the New York mentality, you know, the ones who LOVE LOSERS. They celebrate the ’62 Mets. Some were worried when the Tigers were threatening the 120-loss record. So it figures. New York is full of STUPIDITY and Berra is the President. Another example: The Mets have a stadium near an airport, with annoying jet sounds. Let;s build a new park!! Where? Right there, under the flight path. WOW, what genius. Same for the tennis stadium. Can you believe it? Sure! It’s New York: Where 90% are stupid and the other half are idiiots.
